No time to read it all? Here’s the synopsis:

WalkMe, a recent addition to the SAP portfolio, will soon be expanding its Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) to include new AI-powered digital learning capabilities. This integration will bridge the gap between acquiring knowledge and applying it in real-time scenarios, in the moment of need – providing a unified experience that brings digital learning into the flow of work.

WalkMe's new AI-powered offering is setting out to revolutionize content authoring with dynamic, personalized learning experiences delivered seamlessly within workflows. Once the new WalkMe offering launches, we will offer a transition path from SAP Enable Now to WalkMe. More information will be available later this year.

For SAP Enable Now customers, your cloud edition contracts remain unaffected. You can continue to renew your current SAP Enable Now contracts until further notice, ensuring uninterrupted service and support.

Continue reading for a deeper dive into the vision for digital learning within WalkMe's DAP.

Chapter 1: Why adding digital learning as an integrated component of a Digital Adoption solution makes sense

There is a gap between the rate at which companies are introducing new technologies, and the value they’re seeing. This is because employees may not use the tools, use them incorrectly, or only leverage a fraction of their capabilities.

WalkMe’s Digital Adoption Platform aims to bridge this gap by providing real-time guidance and support, identifying and resolving friction points in workflows. Traditional digital learning solutions, which focus on long-term skill development, are used separately, leading to a disconnect between knowledge acquisition and practical application in real-time.

Integrating digital learning into a DAP creates a unified experience that combines in-the-moment guidance with strategic skill-building - all in the flow of work. This approach ensures that your employees have the knowledge and support they need to effectively utilize technology and achieve optimal performance.

The planned new WalkMe offering will offer advanced content authoring capabilities, powered by generative AI to accelerate the creation of digital content, including dynamic simulations, knowledge checks and assessments dynamically offered in almost every language. It will also include a modern learner experience that can be branded, personalized and distributed in-app at the perfect time and place, creating a unified experience that embeds digital learning directly into workflows

At SAP, our customers’ success has always been our primary focus. By integrating digital learning into WalkMe’s Digital Adoption Platform, we help employees efficiently learn and adapt to new technologies enabling them to better navigate complex software environments. This empowers our customers to unlock unprecedented potential, transition smoothly to the cloud and optimize process adoption. The integrated approach improves efficiency, increases employee engagement, ensures compliance, and fosters innovation.

Chapter 2: How the Future of Digital Adoption and Digital Learning Will Look Like

As we look ahead, the future of digital adoption and learning will be defined by innovation, integration, and intelligence. Imagine a world where learning happens seamlessly within the flow of work, where knowledge is delivered precisely when it's needed.

For our valued customers currently benefiting from SAP Enable Now, rest assured that our commitment to supporting your digital journey remains steadfast. All existing SAP Enable Now cloud solutions will continue to be available for renewals, upsells, and restructures beyond Q1, 2025.

While new customer sales for SAP Enable Now, cloud edition, and the SAP Enable Now on premise editions will cease in Q2, 2025, ongoing support and updates will continue.

By embedding real-time, in-app guidance and personalized learning directly into workflows, the integrated solution ensures that learning happens in the moment of need, increasing retention and immediate application. It equips employees with skills to adapt to new technologies, processes, and workflows in real time.

Conclusion

Embrace the future with SAP and WalkMe, where our dedication to innovation ensures your success. Together, we’ll continue to break barriers and build ecosystems that empower your organization to excel in the digital age. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress on this transformative journey, paving the way for a future in which acquiring knowledge and applying it in real-time scenarios is seamlessly integrated into the flow of work, driving your business to new heights.

@KristinaKunad,

As I'm sure you are aware, standard embedded learning content—including On-Screen Help, Guided Tours, and Simulations—is currently provided through SAP Companion across various applications such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP S/4HANA On-Premise, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Build Work Zone Standard Edition, and SAP Integration Suite, among others.

Could you clarify whether SAP Companion's standard content will eventually be replaced by WalkMe standard content?

Thanks,
Mustafa.

Hi Kristina,

It been long time. Can you please throw some light on future of SAP Enable Now and how SAP is planning to combine the power of SAP Enable Now and Walkme?

As stated in the blog, while new customer sales for SAP Enable Now, cloud edition, and the SAP Enable Now on premise editions will cease in Q2, 2025, ongoing support and updates will continue.

I will update the blog with further information about transitioning options once they become available.

Hi Kristina!

My Understanding is that SAP Enable Now will stay around (from a Producer) standpoint and SAP WalkMe will basically become the new SAP Companion. Is that true?

How would Simulations look in the future state? Would existing simulations be editable in SAP WalkMe? And what about existing content that is already in SAP Companion and linked in an SAP Instance? Would that have to be re-linked?

Hi Lauren,

ongoing contracts will of course be honored and all existing customers can use SAP Enable Now, cloud edition for as long as their contract runs. The future solution for digital adoption is certainly WalkMe.

Since the new WalkMe offering for digital learning is currently being developed, I can't answer your questions about transition options at this time. SAP will consider these scenarios during development and provide transition options for existing content.

More details will follow once the new WalkMe offering takes shape and I will update this blog to share them.

Hi @KristinaKunad

Great blog, really informative.

I understand it is still work in progress however, do you have any sort of timeline of when migration options to move from SAP Enable Now (SEN) to Walk Me will be available? We currently use SEN across our organisation and have a global project ongoing where Walk Me would be great to use.

Thanks in advance

Scott

Hi Scott,

thanks. We're working on the transition options right now. There are technical dependencies we have to wait for, like the development of the new WalkMe offering. I don't have a timeline yet - bear in mind this is a brand-new solution.

I'll share any details here as they become available, including planned timelines.

A reliable source told me that the new WalkMe/SEN offering is being delayed till Q3. Does that mean SAP will extend the SEN lifeline another quarter?

@lben

The general availability of the new WalkMe offering has not yet been announced, so it cannot be delayed.

A new SAP Enable Now edition focused on digital learning is planned as an interim solution for new customers until the new WalkMe offering is available.

Hello Kristina, thank you very much for all this update. Does this mean that all clients who have SAP Enable Now need to migrate to Walkme?

@Franco11

Hi Franco,

this announcement means that WalkMe will be the go-to solution for in-app and digital learning use cases. Existing SAP Enable Now customers can still renew their cloud edition licenses until further notice. As stated, the transition timeline will be announced once available.

Hi @KristinaKunad

Please can you clarify the following points.

  1. Will Walk Me have the functionality to create simulations as SAP Enable Now (SEN) does currecntly, hence replacing that element of SEN?
  2. Where you mention a transtion timeline/plan, will that also include how current SEN customers will migrate all of their simulations, quick reference guides etc over to the new Walk Me platform?

Thanks in advance

Scott

@Scotts0100

Hi Scott,

1. The functionality of the new WalkMe offering will grow over time and WalkMe & SAP will share the scope of the first version in due time. Yes, the general idea is to have a similar recording functionality available.

2. The scope of the transition is to be defined and I cannot share more details at this point.

Exciting times and thanks for the info @KristinaKunad. Do you know if there are plans of incorporating the eCourse functionality (Books and Pages) into the new solution or will it only be focused on transaction level learning and adoption (guided tours, simulations, work instructions, context help)?

@AndrewCassidy

Hi Andrew,

while the scope of features for the new WalkMe offering is not completely defined yet and will of course evolve, I can confirm that digital learning in the sense of a canvas based content creation feature will be included. This will come in addition to the transactional recording and AI-based content creation plus analytics.

Hi @KristinaKunad

I have some questions related to WalkMe from the education/learning point of view:

1.- Currently WalkMe has its own portal, do you plan to migrate the WalkMe educational content from their site to SAP Learning Hub?

2.- If yes, do we have an ETA for the WalkMe education content to be migrated to SAP Learning Hub?

3.- I can see 3 available certifications in the WalkMe site, are they will be available as part of the SAP Learning Hub Partner Edition offerings?

4.- Will we have training systems under the SAP LH platform to learn more about the product?

For me in IBM as current user & Product Owner of EN, I would like to have the opportunity to start having access to the WalkMe education/learning center so I can start getting familiar with the product and be prepared for the future transition, 2 times in the previous month I registered myself in the WalkMe portal as an interested person in the education content but I have never got any response or something not sure if this is something that you can work on?
