At SAP, we are constantly imagining and crafting the future to ensure that our customers stay at the forefront of innovation and efficiency. With this vision, we are excited to share some important updates regarding SAP Enable Now—a tool that has empowered many diverse organizations to manage their digital learning landscapes.

This blog post consists of three parts:

  1. SAP Enable Now Lifecycle Updates
  2. Caring for Our Customers: Transitioning Smoothly
  3. Exploring Target Use Cases for In-App Digital Adoption and Digital Learning

As we move towards new horizons, our planned transition marks an earnest step in bringing a seamless and integrated digital learning experience to life. In alignment with our commitment to transparency and support, we want to assure our important and integral customers that existing contracts within the maintenance timeframe will be honored. Furthermore, for those with contracts extending beyond our defined end of maintenance dates, rest assured that you will be contacted separately to discuss personalized transition approaches.

Our future solution has already been pre-announced in the blog post: Reimagining digital learning as an integrated part of a Digital Adoption Platform with SAP & WalkMe. We encourage you to explore this vision that promises to integrate digital learning smoothly into everyday workflows. The new WalkMe solution, expected to be generally available in Q4 of 2025, will be SAP’s go-forward solution for digital learning - purpose-built to go beyond traditional learning systems by embedding personalized, AI-powered training experiences directly into the flow of work.

2. Caring for Our Customers: Transitioning Smoothly

We understand that transitions can pose questions and concerns. That's why we've designed commercial and technical transition options for existing SAP Enable Now customers with care and precision. These options will be thoroughly evaluated by a Customer Sounding Board in the coming months and their feedback will shape the final version.

While both commercial and technical transition plans will follow a standard path, if necessary, transition paths can be tailored on a case-by-case basis. This ensures that we meet the unique needs and aspirations of each customer. Each customer can transition on their own time within the SAP Enable Now contract duration.

Here’s what we can tell you already about the transition of digital learning content:

  • Playback Integration: It is planned to provide a feature within the new WalkMe offering to seamlessly link all existing digital learning content from SAP Enable Now, allowing easy access to and usage of WalkMe’s playback capabilities while preserving the current content library.
  • Content Move and Editing: WalkMe is planning to transfer content from the existing SAP Enable Now tenant to a new server, making legacy content accessible in WalkMe’s content management module. Editing legacy content is planned to be possible.
  • Full Transition and Testing: Customers will be asked to test the copied content within the new WalkMe offering to ensure functionality. User profiles, authorizations, and Single-Sign-On are to be set up, ensuring smooth access and contribution to digital learning resources while concluding usage of SAP Enable Now.

There are currently no plans to automatically transition the in-app content built with SAP Enable Now but other options are being evaluated.

SAP is planning to offer a "Test & Go Live" license type for customers to cover the transition period. See the illustration below to better understand how the transition will work contractually. More information on this license type will be available soon.

More detailed information on the transition options will be published in due time.

3. Exploring Target Use Cases for In-App Digital Adoption and Digital Learning

In the digital transformation era, organizations are leveraging advanced tools to enhance user engagement and learning experiences. Two critical use cases here are digital adoption through in-app solutions and digital learning. Recognizing these use cases and their nuances allows businesses to select the appropriate technology, viewing them as complementary solutions that prioritize people at the heart of successful digital transformation, and ultimately driving growth and innovation. Let's dive into each use case, explore practical examples, and illustrate how WalkMe offers the right solution for each use case.

a) In-App Digital Adoption

The first use case revolves around enhancing user experience through in-app digital adoption platforms (DAPs). These tools integrate directly with existing software applications, in-app guidance, automation and interactive walkthroughs in the flow of work. The objective is to simplify processes, boost productivity, and reduce onboarding time.

Example Use Cases:

  • Enhancing ERP Systems: Companies implementing complex ERP solutions often face challenges in helping people navigate the new technology, driving adoption and ensuring key workflows are run as intended. With WalkMe Premium / DAP, firms can offer real-time guidance and walkthroughs that simplify the user journey within applications and optimize process execution, reducing errors and support ticket volumes.
  • CRM Utilization: Sales teams using Customer Relationship Management systems can leverage in-app guidance to streamline deal management, forecasting and CPQ. By providing guidance in the moment of need with automations of key repetitive tasks, WalkMe aids in maximizing CRM utilization, driving faster lead-to-deal conversions.

With in-app guidance, companies have seen 60% faster adoption of new applications and features, 45% faster application migrations and 41% fewer business process errors (source: IDC White Paper, The Business Value of WalkMe).

b) Enablement Content Creation & Digital Learning

The second use case focuses on creating rich digital learning content aimed at skill development and mastery using comprehensive training modules. This use case involves developing e-learning content, simulations, and empowering tutorials creating learning experiences designed to upskill the workforce.

Example Use Cases:

  • Corporate Training Programs: Organizations crafting structured training programs can utilize enablement content creation platforms to develop courses, quizzes, and simulations tailored to specific roles or departments. This not only standardizes critical knowledge across teams but also fosters future leadership and skill development.
  • Compliance and Regulation Training: Firms in highly regulated industries benefit from detailed digital learning modules that ensure compliance training is thorough and engaging. Through interactive scenarios and comprehensive assessments, employees can navigate complex regulatory landscapes with confidence and agility.

While SAP Enable Now has been instrumental in enabling content creation, the upcoming WalkMe offering for digital learning promises to evolve this capability further, allowing companies to design innovative learning experiences that are immersive, scalable, and intuitive.

c) Conclusion:

In-app digital adoption focuses on real-time user guidance within applications - ideal for immediate, task-oriented support. Digital learning centers around structured knowledge dissemination and skill development over time, which is crucial for comprehensive employee growth and regulatory adherence.

Both use cases present unique advantages tailored to specific organizational needs. By leveraging tools like WalkMe Premium / DAP and upcoming digital learning solutions, enterprises can effectively address process inefficiencies and elevate learning experiences, ensuring that both users and systems operate at their highest potential.

For a comprehensive digital strategy, the best possible option is for customers to cover both use cases with WalkMe in the future. This approach promotes a seamless and interactive digital enablement environment that supports real-time digital adoption while facilitating robust digital learning. By doing so, organizations can ensure that employees not only receive immediate, practical support within applications but also engage in transformational learning experiences, leading to enhanced productivity, skill mastery, and organizational success.
