Milestones Awards work slightly different comparing to Spot Awards:
This was frequently the reason, why my customer didn´t want to proceed with this piece of Comp&Ben. For one customer we had to create a workaround to meet above stated requirements. In this blog I would like to share tips and tricks so you can save the time re-inventing the wheel.
Step 1 – Create a document generation group with a category "Workflow".
This is essential to be able to send an e-mail.
Step 2 – Define Document template.
Here we will configure the layout of an e-mail notification or a certificate. Unfortunately, the sent out e-mail can´t be saved in the system.
The first image is showing the certificate template which will be sent as an e-mail. This can be configured via the UI editor as well as directly in HTML.
The second image is showing e-mail template.
Step 3 – Once the template has been created and linked to a group, we need to map placeholders to respective data.
The challenges we’ve encountered here were related to the name of an employee and number of years. Number of years in our case determine when employees receive a milestone award. This data cannot be taken as a reference data from the program itself and should come from a business rule.
Step 4 – Create respective business rules.
Step 5 – Define a workflow to trigger your e-mails
Step 6 – Assign this workflow to a business rule, which will be then mapped to a non-recurring pay component.
Step 7 – Map your general business rule to non-recurring pay component
To test the proposed solution above, please keep in mind the following limitations:
