Before You Begin Ensure that you have:

  • An active SAP SuccessFactors License that includes access to SAP Joule.
  • A global account in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Successfully integrated SuccessFactors with SAP Cloud Identity Services for secure user logins.

Step 1: Establish Trust Between SAP BTP and Identity Authentication This setup allows Joule to authenticate users through Identity Authentication.

  • Log in to the SAP BTP Cockpit.
  • Go to Security → Trust Configuration.
  • Establish Trust by adding your IAS tenant as a trusted identity provider.

Step 2: Configure User Attributes in IAS Joule requires basic user details like first name, last name, and email for personalization.

  • Navigate to the IAS Administration Console.
  • Select User Management → User Attributes.
  • Define and map attributes such as email, firstName, and lastName.

Step 3: Launch Joule Booster in SAP BTP Use SAP's automated booster to simplify Joule configuration.

  • Access the SAP BTP Cockpit with global admin privileges.
  • Click on Boosters.
  • Locate and start the "Setting up Joule" booster.
  • Follow the steps to choose the subaccount and review entitlements.

Step 4: Add Trusted Domains in IAS for SuccessFactors Enable secure communication between SuccessFactors and Joule.

  • In the IAS Admin Console, go to Applications & Resources → Applications.
  • Select the SAP SuccessFactors application.
  • In the Trust tab, add the domain utilized by your SuccessFactors system.

Step 5: Assign Joule Access via Permission Roles in SuccessFactors Grant relevant permissions to users for Joule access.

  • Log in to SuccessFactors and navigate to Admin Center.
  • Manage Permission Roles.
  • Choose roles requiring Joule access.
  • Activate Joule Access checkbox under User Permissions.

Step 6: Test and Confirm Integration Ensure Joule functions correctly post-setup.

Test Procedures:

  • Log in to SAP SuccessFactors with appropriate permissions.
  • Locate the Joule icon or chat assistant.
  • Engage with Joule by inputting queries to validate responses.
