Introduction:
Managing employee timesheet and time-off requests with precision is critical to maintaining organizational efficiency and compliance.
However, clients often encounter challenges when employees log time types in minute level durations, such as 1 or 2 minutes, which may impact payroll accuracy, reporting and etc. Here I will suggest a custom solution which ensures that the employee will be able to post only on 15 minutes interval and if employee tries to record the time in below 15 minutes or in between 15 minutes intervals we can set a error message.
While durations may seem negligible, their accumulation can result in discrepancies that impact payroll and reporting.
Addressing the Challenge:
Go to - Configure business rules
Under Time Management select the Time Sheet Validation.
Write the rule as show below
The above business rule will be help to check the recorded time intervals is on 0.15 minutes.
Once the rule has been created this can be assigned to the Time Recording Profile which you might have configured for your clients or you can also assign this rule in the object Employee Timesheet Entry.
Below is the example:- Here the rule is been assigned under the Time Recording Profle.
Go to - Manage Data -Time Recording profile
Under the validation rule
Along with this as you can also have a custom rounding rule if required.
Results:
This solution will restrict the employees from recording their time at only 15 minutes interval which will reduce the payroll discrepancies by more that 90% and minimized HR processing time.
Conclusion
Organizations that adopt SAP Successfactors for Timesheet or TimeOff when they face challenges with the time recording with minutes level durations, such as 1 or 2 minutes, which may impact payroll accuracy, reporting and etc can be control they time recording intervals with this solution.
