Introduction:

This blog helps to do config steps required to in SAP SF Compensation, you can govern employee eligibility through custom MDF and business rules.

  • Creating a MDF object,

  • Designing business rules,

  • Associating those rules with the compensation templates.

Scenario: There would be a  requirement based on MDF object, writing a business rule for the eligibility in Successfactors Compensation. 

Create a Custom MDF Object:

  • We need to create a custom MDF object that will store the eligibility criteria for your compensation plan template. 
  • For example, create an object based on to track performance ratings, bonus eligibility, or other factors relevant to compensation.

Define Eligibility Rules:

  • Use the MDF Business Rule Engine to create eligibility rules based on the custom MDF object. Use the base object as Employment Details
  • These rules will determine which employees are eligible for compensation based on the data stored in the MDF object.

If you have a field in Employee Central or a MDF Table which will determine eligibility you can set the eligibility in the Design Worksheet.

    1. From the template, navigate to Plan Setup; Design Worksheet; Design Worksheet
    2. From the drop down that defaults to Form Fields choose Eligibility Fields
    3. Click Add Eligibility Column
    4. Choose Compensation and Salary (Tab) and Click Done
    5. For Each field, map the eligibility to the correct field in EC or on the MDF

Map Eligibility Rule to Compensation Plan:

  • Map the Business rule to your compensation plan template under plan details, Eligibility

Apply the rule, then based on MDF the eligible employee will appear in the worksheet accordingly.

Conclusion:

By creating a custom MDF object, defining business rules with the MDF Business Rules Engine, and then mapping these rules to your compensation plan, you can build a flexible  eligibility in SAP SuccessFactors
