Fixing Default Goal Plan Display Issue in SuccessFactors Goal Management
I recently encountered an issue where default goal plan wasn’t showing correctly when managers viewed their team’s goal plan. Here's a detailed walkthrough of the problem, the steps I took to troubleshoot it, and how issue was resolved it.
1. Issue Overview
When a manager accessed the Goal Plan for a direct report, the expected default plan wasn’t showing up. Even though the 2025 Goal Plan was correctly set as the default in Manage Template, the system was displaying the 2024 Goal Plan instead.
2. Troubleshooting Steps
I explored several possible causes to identify the issue, but the initial attempts didn’t resolve the problem.
Scenario 1: Caching Suspected
Scenario 2: Manual Selection Doesn’t Stick
3. Final Resolution
After further investigation, I resolved the issue by taking the following steps:
A. Rearranged the Goal Plan Template Sequence – I adjusted the order of the templates to reflect the intended priority in Manage template.
B. Refreshed RBP (Role-Based Permissions) – I performed a permissions refresh from Provisioning.
These changes corrected the behavior, and the 2025 Goal Plan now displays as the default when managers access their direct reports’ goals.
Thankyou !
