
In this Blog, let me share the interested basic functionality of the SuccessFactors Employee Central – Advance & Deduction, like how to configure the eligibility, workflow, business rules and assign the same into the Objects. The idea here is to enlighten this product features into our community and start use and talk with Customers (during the explore and realization phases in the implementation project or any rollout projects).
This is one of the best practices instead of mashup the loan infotype in SuccessFactors Employee Central and replicate the pay component data into S/4 Hana Payroll or SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
Manage Advance Objects Overview:
The following are the key objects in Advance.
Business Requirements:
The below the customer requirement towards the Advance.
Note: The business rule is having more capabilities to with combinations to set the eligibility and amounts e.g., few samples ask from customers are Based on Grade, Based on Company, Multiply of Basic Salary (two times of basic e.g.), Maximum Eligibility Amounts etc. I have taken the example of Employee Basic Salary Amount.
Configuration Steps (Including the Business Rule, Eligibility Rule and Assign it to the Objects)
Section 1: Goto Manage Advance Objects > In Create New > Configure the Eligibility for Advance
The following highlights are key for the configuration completion.
Note: Configure the Eligibility Rule and Deduction Pay Components (Prior to Configure the Eligibility for Advance)
Configure the Eligibility Rule:
Configure the Deduction Pay Component;
Section 2: Configure the Workflow (There two level of approval been enabled in the workflow)
Note: As per your requirements, you can define the workflow and write the business rule accordingly as well.
Section 3: Assign the Workflow and Business Rule into the Object
Goto the Configure Object Definition > non-Recuring Payment > Assign it into the Save Rule
Section 4: Role Based Permissions
Note: If is defined under Secured, then select the Non-Recurring Payments access respectively or else it is not required to do.
Section 5: Configure into the People Profile
Configure the Advances Portlets in People Profile as per the below screen shot.
Section 6: User Experience (Look and Feel by the Users)
Based on the eligibility rule and criteria, user (here Admin in our case) will see the respective Advance Type in the Employee’s /People Profile
Click on the “Request Now” Let us create the request and see the process/test the case.
Finally, let us see the approver page user experience.
Once approved (two levels in our case), the respective record will be created in the people profile as below.
Current Advance Details
Advance Eligibility, since it is fully consumed there is no balance.
Deductions also created automatically based on the configuration (effective date to deduct the instalments.
