Introduction:

Rehiring is the process where organizations hire their former employees again back to their organization. When it happens, the former employees as an external candidates get hired across legal entities where they worked as an employee before. Since the candidates can be from different Legal entities from different countries, it is good to assign their Rehiring process to the country specific Onboarding Manager groups as similar as country specific Onboarding process to maintain the process as simple as Onboarding process for Onboarding Managers.

Onboarding supports this process by assigning the Rehire verification process to the country specific Onboarding Managers to carry forward with the Rehiring process.

Pre-requisites:

  1. Configuring Rehire check.
  2. Enabling permission to Rehire Inactive Employee (by ‘match’ in New Hire) and Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by ‘match’ in New Hire) (as per the requirement).
  3. Creating Rehire Coordinator responsible group or repurposing the Country specific Onboarding Manager groups (as per the requirement).
  4. Configure Rehire Coordinator Business rule.
  5. Enabling Rehire with Old employment switch in Onboarding General settings.

Note: Onboarding HR Managers who are going to review the Rehire verification process, must have required permission for external candidate’s Personal Information and Job information. Mostly, Onboarding Managers who review New Hire data must be having the permission already.

Configuration for Country specific Rehire verification process:

  • Create a country specific Rehire verification group for Onboarding Managers.

Note: You can reuse the country specific Onboarding Managers group that are already created for country specific Onboarding process for this Rehire assignment rule or else we can create a country specific group for Rehire verification process specifically.

  •  Creating a business rule

To assign the Rehire verification process, create a business rule that validates the country of a legal entity for which the candidate is getting hired for and then assign that country specific Onboarding Managers group like given in the screen shot.

  •  Configure the business rule in Onboarding configuration:

Once the rule is created, assign this rule to get trigger.

Navigate to Manage Data → Search Onboarding Configuration → Select the Default Object → Search for - Rule for Rehire Coordinator Group Configuration and assign the rule in the field → Save.

Expected result:

After the configuration setup, once the onboarding is initiated for the candidate, system validates whether the candidate is a Rehire or not. If the candidate is a Rehire, system assigns the Rehire verification process to that country specific Onboarding HR Managers for the Profile Verification Process.

Example:

Onboarding Manager added to ONB HR Manager USA group.

Rehire Verification Process is assigned to the same Onboarding HR Manager who is part of USA group.
