Hi Folks,

In one of the existing blog Propagating Original Start Date to Rehire with new... - SAP Community we have seen the setup to fetch the original start date from previous employment details. But many of us including me faced challenge with the given Business Rule.

In this blog I will share the setup I have applied for our client requirement to auto populate the employment details dates from terminated record while performing Rehire/ Rehire with New Employment:

Steps applied in system:

- Create new MDF table and link with intelligent services > integration (refer the above blog)

Solution outcome: - after terminating an employee, User Id, Person Id, Original Start Date, Seniority Date & Service Date record will be auto populated in mdf object:

- Now we have to place this in a Business rule, so that whenever Rehire/ Rehire with New employment action performed from 'Add new Employee' hire form. The saved Terminated employees' dates should Auto populate in the dates 'employment details' portlet after submission of the hire form.

-  onSave rule for the Employment Details portlet to default the original start date, seniority date & service date from the lookup table using the PersonId field as query parameter:

- Save the rule in Manage Business Configuration- Employee Central> HRIS Elements> employmentInfo:

- To access the MDF object data grant permission:

Hope this rule will help in solutioning the requirement. Thanks for reading.

Regards,

Papia Basu
