I have following situation/question in the work status.
1. What is the significance of ‘Controlled by’ column in the work status. Do I have to fill up ‘Owner’ or ‘manager’ in the controlled by column in the work status? Or can I fill it with ‘BOTH’ all the work state?
2. I have only 2 state in the work status. (Unsubmitted, Submitted)
In the ‘Unsubmitted’ anyone can enter and do anything. Submitted no one can do anything further on the data or execute any jobs. There is no owner/manager concept or BPF is used.
Since there is no real usage of concept 'owner' and 'manager' do we need to update the 'entity' dimension with owner /manager details to operate the workstatus functionality?
Appreciate inputs.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Tayir,
Whole concept of Work status is based on the "Owner" property of the driver dimension. So it is mandatory to have that property.
"Controlled by" option defines who can set the relavent work status. For e.g if u want both the owner/manager of the driver dimension to set "unsubmitted", use both.
For u r scenario, maintain admin as the owner of the top node of u r driver dimension in that way admin can set the workstatus "submitted" to all the dimensions.
Cheers...Ashok

Hi Tayir,
Suggest you review the below HTG on work status available -
When you say -
In the ‘Unsubmitted’ anyone can enter and do anything. Submitted no one can do anything further on the data or execute any jobs. There is no owner/manager concept or BPF is used.
Unsubmitted - Suppose you maintain All and Submitted, suppose you maintain locked for all the interface - It implies that once your status is unsubmitted, everyone can enter data through any interface, and once it is submitted, nobody can enter data through any interface.
But, who sets the work status to Submitted?? that will be taken care by what you maintain in the Controlled by column, so it has got significance as well as the owner property even in a simple scenario like the one which you want to maintain.
Note that manager is something that might be irrelevant for you.
Hope it helps!!
