For accessibility purposes we may be required to add tags to the Word based schedules/tables In Disclosure Management.
There is a Word feature for table properties > alt text tab title and description fields. These are overwritten when the data links are refreshed (as expected).
Any other ideas for labeling the tables?
Maybe the XBRL tags? Not familiar with their usage.

The preservation of this property is currently not supported. There are no short-term or medium-term plans for this either.
But maybe you can use bookmarks for your purpose.
Select the whole table and add a bookmark with describing name .
Now you can use hyperlinks to refer to them:
