What is the difference between Write and Preprocessing option?

Hi,

Can someone please explain the difference between Write and Preprocessing Variant Type?

I would want to run archiving job for the business partner and while maintaining variant for it, the system is asking to select Variant type.

System: S4HANA public cloud

Program that can be run before data archiving to prepare data for archiving and check data for archivability.

Hi Rushi,

it always depends on the specific archiving object, but usually it's two different programs. The preprocessing is checking archivability and sets flags that marks the data as "archivable" and the write programm is creating the archive file.
