We are running BPC 10.1 Standard.
I have created a test SAP user and have assigned them to roles
/POA/CLM_BPC_USER and /POA/BUI_UM_SER
I can see the test user from the BPC Admin console and from there given the user Data Access Privileges exactly the same as my actual personal user. (Exactly on the BPC side, my user has greater privileges on the SAP side.)
As myself I can see BPC master data and plan values and actual values
As the test user I can see master data but cannot see actual or plan values in any cell.
What should I be looking for? Are there any BEx authorizations I need to add to the test user on the SAP side?
Request clarification before answering.
/POA/CLM_BPC_USER and /POA/BUI_UM_SER is not needed any more in BPC 10.1. These two roles are only for BPC 10.0

Thank you. I will check out those roles.
We actually started with embedded and switched to standard mid-project. Could that be part of our problem? Does embedded BPC require more "back end" manipulation of roles by Basis than standard?

Hi Michael,
For standard, as far I know only those two you sent are required. From there, Task Profiles and DAP would be enough to give users access to BPC reports (EPM Add in).
Now if you're running something else, like Bex reports, then you'd need to add a few BW related roles via Su01.
You might also take a look on some standard roles instead, such as:

Yes. I have been over that document. I need some help understanding what it is really saying. Also it seems that some information from the 10.0 docuement is still relevant but has not been duplicated in the 10.1 docuement.
I have been told that once the minimum SAP side roles have been applied that "everything else is done from BPC". Either this is not true or I am missing something.

Have you read Security Guide:
