Using firefighter in Eclipse BW Modeling Tools

Hi,

we are looking for a solution to use firefighter in Eclipse BW Modeling Tools. On BWonHANA and BW4HANA we need to use Eclipse for analysing severals problems in production. As a developer I logon to our BW via our central GRC-system. In old releases I used RSA1 to entry the workbench. The workbench isn't there any more on BW4HANA, so I have to use Eclipse. The same for AMDP debugging and so on in BWonHANA.

How can I logon to eclipse with this session? Can I get the password somewhere? Changing password by myself is not possible because I need to knwo the old one which was generated by the system.

Does anyone has a solution for that?

Thanks

Philipp

Hi Marcelo,

thanks for your answer!

We dont want to use this FF for login into HANA, we want to login in BW Modeling Tools which is used in Eclipse to design BW objects. The logon in based on Netweaver and not on database level. So no HANA databasse connection is needed - we need to logon with a "normal" user from the SAP system.

Best regards,

Philipp

Philipp,

Were you able to find an answer for your question? I didn't see a tcode GRAC_EAM to launch Hana Studio.

Uunfortunately not. SAP does not see the necessity to implement a solution for that. SAP GUI, Eclipse, WebGUI - nothing integrated. Its no fun...

Hi Phillip.

If you are already using GRC 12 FF can be used also against HANA Systems based on Audit Policies.

Once it is correctly set up in GRC you will be able to use GRAC_EAM tcode as you did before and it will launch your Eclipse/HANA IDE, in which you will need to type your FF ID and paste (Ctlr+V) the randomly generated password for that session.

Please note that decentralized FF (as far as I know) is not available for HANA systems, so it is not possible to login straight with your FF ID in HANA IDE (without calling GRAC_EAM in GRC first).

For more details please check SAP note 2735438.
