Is it possible in SAP PaPM to use a user-exit type variable in a process variable, similar to those used in SAP BW queries?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Jose,
Thank you for your response and apologies for the delay. Unfortunately, we do not have a functionality that can use User-Exit variable. What the SAP Profitability and Performance Management can provide you, which we mentioned previously, is the Environment Checks functionality.
On the Environment Checks tab, you may define a custom check that will serve as the basis of the message text and message type that will prompt. The mentioned custom check should be added on the Calculation Unit > Checks tab and can be used on the functions under it.
For example, if you wanted to prompt an error if a Customer Name = CN001, you can define a check on the Environment Checks tab the Selection is (field ID) = CN001, Message Text: "Invalid!", Message Type: Error. Then you need to define it on the Function's Check tab. Once you execute it, an error message will be prompted.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Samantha

Hi Jose,
Assuming that the user-exit you have mentioned is a environment function that the customer can exit/stop from a process, what we have on PaPM currently is environment function checks that can serve as a user-exit on PaPM Processes.
The environment function check, is a unique identifier and can be used or changed by the user. The users can define custom checks and register them in one or more functions later, so that the system applies them to the results during an execution run. For example, if the user wanted to stop the process when it reaches 10 entry result, a message will be prompted and it can be an error, abort, warning, information or status message type.

If this is not the functionality you are referring to, may we kindly ask for further information or sample scenario on what exactly you wanted to do so probably i can provide you a better answer?
Hope this helps you!
Samantha

Hello Samantha
Sorry for the delay in answering, Thank you very much Samantha, but what I was referring to, is that within the process that is defined in PaPM, the parameters to make the simulation can use User-Exit. variables similar to those you can use in BW.
When we have the simulation process already defined in PaPM, if the parameters that we define in this model can be user-exit type variables.
So, it's not possible at the moment.
Kind Regards
Jose
