Use of Secondary Server in SAP PCM 10.0

  Can anybody ,Please tell me ,what is the use of secondary server in sap pcm ? &

   How it works?

This is a standard 3 tier landscape for most generic applications with one primay app server.

Desktop client, IIS Application, Database.

PCM standard landscape looks like this options for a additional app servers. Essentially the same but with the addition of a secondary server and some more client machines

Secondary server or model server is used to balance the load on the system and hosts the PCM models.
