Hello All,

If we have classifications of materials with an expired ECCN, how is that handled in GTS? Normally for HTS, there is a validity period. But not for Export Control.

For instance, 2B006.b.1.b.2 which is not longer valid, but has been assigned to a material years ago.

What is your experience?

Regards, Dean.

Hi Dean,

You are right, ECCNs don't come with a validity like HTS. New/replaced/updated ECCNs are loaded with data (in XML) typically from a provider (such as OCR, MK denials etc.). Along with this XML file, you should have received reclassification file which helps you move the current products from the old ECCN to the new one. If the old one now exists as more than one new ECCN, the classification has to be done manually. All of this can be done in these transactions:

1. /SAPSLL/LLNS_UPL002 - XML Upload of Exp. Control Class Nos

2. /SAPSLL/PR_RET_A_002 - Reclassify products via XML file

3. /SAPSLL/PR_RET_M_002 - Reclassify Products Manually

Satish
