Upgrade from BPC 7.5 NW to 10.0

Hi,

I have just joined as a single resource supporting BPC version 7.5NW in my current ISU based project. Want to upgrade it to version 10. Would anybody suggest its benefits (to be conveyed to the client and management) from business perspective. Currently no data is extracted from BW..  only flat file- based reports.

Also please suggest the cost it should involve.

HI Ruma,

You have to spend some time to read the documentation about the differences between 7.5 and 10. Then you have to compare the differences with your real business scenario. And business scenario is not just "4 users". Sorry, but you have to do some work yourself.

Hi,

Pl check the Classes and methods which are available in 7.5 and 10, there is difference, check how many BADI's are there, plan to revisit all of them and unit testing etc.

Check some new additional functionalities in Admin as compared to 7.5 and 10.

Architecture wise there is a lot of difference. 7.5 uses .Net architecture, 10.0 uses Rest based architecture with Adobe Flex. 10.1 uses HTML5.

So its not one thing, there are lot of differences and to consider list of things for upgrade, plan for a full detailed level cutover list and all depends on the complexity of the current implementation.

I would rightly suggest for a solution architect as well, who is not uselessly blunt and arrogant.

Cost estimate of the upgrade package for 4 users.?

Sorry for been blunt, but I'm surprised that business will trust your suggestions based on your lack of BPC knowledge.

Ask the business/manager to spend some money on a BPC solution architect.
