Update BPC Embedded ?

Hi,

i have a question concerning installation / updating BPC Embedded.

In note  http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2103585 the dependencies between bpc embedded and bw sp version are described.

Since there is no seperate installation for bpc embedded (comes with bw installation ) -> Is the relevant bpc sp / patch included in the bw sp installation or do we have to install the bpc sp and patches manually ?

Hi Arnold,

as BPC Embedded is contained in BW with a BW support package you will also the the BPC Embedded fixes. Only if also have the BPC Add-On installed (i.e. BPC Standard) you have to implement the BPC Standard support packages as well.

Since the BPC Admin Client in 10.1 is delivered via BW both in Embedded and Standard the mapping of BW support packages and BPC 10.1 support packages is needed (and explained in the note you mentioned). One may need patches of the BPC Admin Client in a given BW support package: these fixes are also called 'patch' and should not be confused with a support packages. Check the above mentioned note about the available patches of the BPC Admin Client within a BW support package.
