Unable to save the hierarchy in dimension BPC NW 10.0

Hi ,

When I tried to add hierarchy it took long time to save the hierarchy in . So I stopped the process in the middle. And when I tried to edit structure it was not allowing me to edit showing me the error message as "FAILED TO READ MASTER DATA FROM DIMENSION". When I checked the process was running in the backend. So we killed that backend process too. Hierarchy was not created in the info object but in dimension it was showing me that Hierarchy. Then I removed the added hierarchy from the structure and saved after that dimension processed properly.

But now I cannot able to create same hierarchy in the dimension

It shows this message " TABLE CPMB/XXXX/ ALREADY EXISTS" . I cleared the cache memory through TC- UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE and cleared metadata cache and refreshed epm too . Still I cannot able to save the hierarchy.

Suggest me If there is any way to clear temporary files or tables because when ever I open that dimension structure it shows me the deleted hierarchy and automatically disappears.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

sorry for the late response.

I can able to add/delete property or hierarchy only through bw tables not through bpc  but I can able to add id's in that same dimension and process it . Whenever I am trying to add property or hierarchy through bpc , it gives me the error message " TABLE /CPMBXXX1/ ALREADY EXISTS" and then after I cannot able to open my dimension it is showing this error message " FAILED TO RETRIEVE MASTER DATA ". That dimension again works only when I delete that newly created property/hierarchy through bw tables .

Can any one suggest me to clear this issue

Using corrections "through bw tables" you managed to corrupt you bpc! Don't do it!

If it's a test system - delete everything

Hi Anand,

Try running program UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE for that dimension. It should bring your BPC Dimension in sync with BW InfoObject. After that, you can start rebuilding your hierarchy.

If UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE fails, check OSS notes for that program depending what error message it issues.

Hi Anand,

Try deleting the dimension and then after some time create a new one and try loading...

Also delete the PC_NW folder from  your local desktop and log in again to the BPC system.,

Can you suggest me any other way. Since so many developments had been done using that dimension and cannot delete and create one.

Refer to this thread....Try running the 3 programs given....Empty cache or old data | SCN

You can use RSH1 and remove problematic hierarchy.

You can check the table UJA_DIM_HIER2 if there is an entry with the hierarchy and possibly remove it?

I tried but that hierarchy is not there in this tcode also.

And now because of this hierarchy error I can not able to add property also in the structure. When opening excel models which holds this account dimension is not opening. It is showing in "Internal Server Error". Other models which does not have this account dimension is opening.
