Unable to lock / hide cells using the EPM Formatting sheet

Hello Gurus,

I am working on my input form and I want to lock the cells of a column at the same time I also want to hide a Page axis cell but I am unable to do so.

In the Page Axis Formatting Tab, I right clicked on the Cell (All)-> EPM-> as you see in the screen shot, the options are all disabled.

Also, when I double click on the cell, to check on Protect->Lock/Hide - This does not seem to take effect on the data in the cells of the report.

I understand how the formatting works but I believe I have missed something here and would like you kind advise and guidance to proceed further.

Expecting you favorable responses.

Regards,

Sachin

Sorry, but what is the issue?

If:

And the red cell is made Locked and Hidden using EPM Menu

Then if you look on report header cell properties you will see:

After you protect sheet using EPM protection you will see the effect.

Result - no formula is visible, and if you try to type something you will have:

But if you double click on this cell then it will be unprotected to provide member selection.

If you want to protect from double click - just hide rows containing page header cells and show only cells with links to page header cells.

Hello Vadim,

Thank you for your prompt response.

For me the issue is with the Data for a particular column.

I want to lock all the cells which has the data for Budget preventing users from input.

Regards,

Sachin

Sorry, but how the page axis protection is related to "Data for a particular column"??????

Use EPM->Protect on the red cell:

Thank you Vadim.

Initially when I tried doing the same, after the report was created, I was unable to perform the lock on cells as I said they were disabled. After opening the report once again from the saved folder, I was able to see that these options were enabled, and hence got it working.

With your help I was able to get the required cells locked and input disabled.

Thanks once again.

Sometimes EPM->Lock is working unpredictably Save-Close-Open usually restores the normal behavior

Apart from the Page Axis problem, I also had a problem with Dimension Member/Property Formatting, which I missed in the initial requirement explanation. Will remember to elaborate to the full, next time.
