Hello,
We are on BPC 10.1
Can you please confirm if environment has to be taken offline MANUALLY during transports?
We have already set the parameter TRANS_AUTO_OFFLINE = Y in source and target systems.
Some old SCN threads indicate still we need to take it offline manually. Can you please confirm?
I don't see any recent Notes on this topic.
Thanks

Hi,
I had sent this question to SAP OSS also. After checking our SP version SAP advised that this global parameter will handle Environment offline/online things, and nothing to be done manually. We have transported a model change then.
Thanks

Hi JP,
My question to SAP was generic. "What to do when I have to send a transport" didn't mention whether we intended to transport environment or not.
So I think SAP's answer applies even if environment is not transported, and the setting should take care of it automatically.
Refer to note 2010964 , and search for TRANS_AUTO

Dear all,
do you know if now with BPC 11.1 (standard version) is still needed to set the Environment of the target system off-line? Or maybe SAP found a way to avoid this unpleasant side effect?
Many thanks.
Stefano

Hi MK,
I have not used the global parameter for taking the environment offline....But to be honest I personally would not take that risk! You would have to doubly ensure the environment is online again......Plus I will not recommend it to use in Production system! Lots of factors involved to be thought of before utilizing that option.

JP

Even in this link SAP BPC 10 Transport Guide, author has suggested not to use this setting in production
