System messages (SM02) in BPC Embedded interface (Or A40)

Dear Community

We're working with a customer who would like to send system messages - like the one produced by SM02 in the GUI - but have them show up in the BPC Embedded website, as the user logs in.

Do any of you know, what steps we need to take to enable this functionality, or if it is even possible?

Please let me know if you require any information.

Thank you in advance!

Short answer: Yes!

The trick was to fiddle around with the network-settinbg of the logon page.

  • Go to Transaction-code: SICF. And press "Execute".
  • Access, DEFAULT_HOST, Service Path: /sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/bpcwebclient/. and enter Edit Mode.

  • Go to the "Error Pages" tab

  • Scroll to the buttom of that page, and click "Configuration".

  • In the next Dialog, check the "System Messages" checkbox, and save.

  1. Save your service. You might get asked for a transport request.
  2. Go to SM02, and enter a message

Go to the BPC-web portal and log in:

Hope this helps!!!
