standard Consolidation, ownership and rate cube in Embedded BPC

As we know that the Embedded BPC now can do both planning and consolidation.

For planning, we can use standard cube /ERP/SFIN_R01 as the infoprovider when we create models in BPC.

For consolidation are there any standard cubes we can used when we create the consolidation, ownership and rate models?

Hi Jian,

For extracting transaction data from ECC, there is standard info-provider (0FIGL_10). This info-provider will fetch data from ECC table (FAGLFLEXT).

For Ownership data, there is no such info-provider, as these information are maintained at BPC Level not at Transaction level.

For Exchange Rate, You can fetch rates from ECC (if maintained there) else you have to maintain this at BPC Level.

Hi Jian,

What I understand from the so far product reviews :

1.BW-BPC Layer for Data load is gone - less interfaces

- this means no dimensions required but you will be dealing with BW infoobjects for master data,

-transaction data now can be directly loaded in BW layer

-Properties can be maintained just like classical but in slightly different way

2.BW Cube (Transactional) will be used as consolidation model - the way you do in embedded planning (where you create a planning cube in BW and make it model in bpc)

-Here the data will be stored in Periodic mode not like YTD (again it can be handled with code etc. but looks like its half way through in product development)

3.BEX Query Designer and Analysis for Office will be used for Report Development and Analysis.

4.Some features of like Ownership Calculation, Data Manager Packages etc. are not available and will be done with tasks etc. But again I think these are getting refined and will have better usability and lesser complexity.

5.Some features of US Eliminations, Equity Pickup are yet to be available.

All in all it promises to be good product with best of both worlds, let's see when it gets released with full features.

I saw one nice blog post on sdn which gives you good snapshot:

Thanks,
