SPL upload of classic file resulted in huge blocked list

GTS experts,

We recently moved from extended file format of SPL upload to classic file format of SPL file upload into out GTS 10.1 system. With this migration we are noticing a huge number of blocked partners, any clue on why this might be happening?

As advised by Descartes, we uploaded the delist file in the extended format first as we had the extended files in the current version. Then uploaded the files classic format.

Our GTS system is predominantly used for partner screening, except for US where we do document screening.

The blocked partners have gone up to 3900 against 400 in a bad week.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,

Pardon me if I'm reiterating something you already know. The classic file is always 1-1 on the SPL entries, whereas extended file format is 1-n as in one SPL name can be present in more than one lists (condensed version). When you performed the upload of the de-listed file, did you verify all the entries expired? If the time of the old entries doesn't match with the new entry on the de-listed file, the SPL entries never expire correctly.

If the de-listed file hasn't expired all the entries, on top of the same if you performed the new classic file upload, it can create overlapping entries resulting in a lot of false hits. Perform a random sampling of the hits and you can evaluate for every hit if the entry matched is with your new file upload or something from the past.

If the hits are matching against the past data, you may have to work with Descartes in getting another file set for de-listing. Remember when you do classic file upload the first time, there is always a possibility of getting a lot of hits on the first few screenings. It should come down eventually as your business team reviews and releases them.

Hope it helps!

Thanks,
