SPL - How is "Minimum Score" Calculated

424

So if I am looking at Minimum Score Percentage for the following entries

"Joe Smith, 123 Freeway, Nowhere, Kansas"

being compared to

"Joe Smoth, 123 Freeway, Noplace, Kansas"

Is it looking at the overall characters, so 26/31 total matching characters or 84%

Or is it comparing field for field, if Min Score is set to 75%

"Joe Smith" vs "Joe Smoth" is a 50% match -> not flagged

"123 Freeway" vs "123 Freeway" is a 100% match -> it would be flagged

"Nowhere, Kansas" vs "Noplace, Kansas" is a 50% match -> would not be flagged

Does the above 1 positive create a flag for minimum score, or does it average out for the minimum score check, the average would be 66% matched.

When the SPL Screening is done with S/4 HANA it goes through 3 checks, the Exactness, Minimum Score, and % Rate of Matching Words.

The Minimum Score is calculated by adding up all of the characters on the entire screen and seeing how many match, regardless of string location.

So if the whole name, address, and any other information has 100 characters, and Minimum Score is set to the 90%, it would need 90 out of the 100 characters to flag as a match for Minimum Score.
