Shortcut for accessing a layout from a variant screen

Hello there,

is there a way to get the layout screen for a given variant screen using a shortcut or other methods

Usecase: i am looking to automate running reports basing on a given variant and a layout, but when i select a variant, there are different options for choosing a layout (Classical, Grid, Output, Output Variants etc), this means the variant screens are different and there are too many decision for the VBscript to make. Any ideas how to deal with this problem ...
