Sharing Contract Not Renewed vs Sub contract (Share objects) Renewed

Hello Experts,

I have a situation where we have auto renewal in place thru actions, and sharing contract is not renewed (due to data issue on renewal data fields) , where as the shared objects (subscription contracts) are renewed thru the auto renewal process. Due to this, the counter calculation in CC is not happening, Is there other way to solve this other than having to Cancel and recreate the subscription contracts + Shared contract again? Is there possibility to just recreate a new sharing contract and link the existing share objects? I tried this in change process looks like you can not update the sharing Contract on a subscription contract thru Change process. But wanted to check. Thanks.

Hi Chaitanya,

you are right. It is not possible in a change process to link a contract to a new sharing contract, because this could lead to inconsistencies in SAP CC. On the other hand a change process is missing to reactivate a closed sharing contract.

To avoid such a situation I can propose following solutions.

  • Either do not set a contract end date in the sharing contract and close it manually (or by a report which must be implemented on project basis), once all linked contracts are closed
  • Or implement some checks so that a linked contract can only be extended if the sharing contract is also extended successfully. Must also be done on project basis

Best regards,
Thomas

Thanks Thomas, regarding your comment "change process is missing to reactivate a closed sharing contract." --> is this one of the change process that I can activate or do I need to do this with custom route if I need to reactivate an expired subscription contract?
