Segmentation at company code level

Our Client has its segmentation reporting at company code level, which is basically they distinguish ICE and EV vehicles at company code level. So when the business change the segment from ICE to EV which eventually change the company code and when we have a company code change a new plant to be created in S/4 since M/L is activated for only plant and its associated company code 

Physically plant location is same and however in S/4 due to this new plant creation all the impacted teams will have to do lot of cutover activities 

There are new app from SAP but this is at profit center (Profit Center Reorganization | SAP Help Portal ) and not at Sub-ledger and Inventory will be in same Old company code and its plant, is there any process or app that will .

1. perform this reorganization at the plant level and company code so that i have both sub-ledger and inventory balances account reporting correctly to new EV company code along with profit center 

2. We have restriction today once M/L is set productive this cannot be changed and this forces us to create a new plant , is there any new solutions that SAP provided to lift the plant A from company code 1 to company code 2

The described business change / requirement is a very common one and known - especially in the automotive industry. Materials or production areas have to be moved into another segment to the EV segment.

Nevertheless having defined a segmentation on company code level is a customer specific setup. SAP recommends to use Segments or Profit Centers for segmentation and external segment reporting.

Based on this SAP recommended segment configuration the profit center reorganization has been developed, which supports an easy reassignment of profit centers to products/materials, to projects and many other master data and takes care of transfer posting the related inventory and other balance sheet items to the new profit center. A similar functionality is planned to be provided for segment reorganization as part of SAP's roadmap.

SAP has no standard functionality to reorganize company codes and plants. Changes on this level are defined at SAP as mergers and acquisitions. Such mergers and acquisition scenarios are usually handled by the SAP data migration and landscape transformation (DMLT) consultants and are custom specific projects using generic technical tools for copying data within or across tables. 

Summarizing my answer: for this custom-specific setup of segmentation using company codes, SAP has no reorganization functionality and is - at this point in time - not planning to provide one.

Thanks for the detailed response this is what we found out as well. Sap is also recommending Syniti sap migration tool to use for this case
