Hello, check the functionality DISTRIBUTION

You will need to create first  a Template for the distribution.(Report + Users + Variables to use)

Then create the Scheduled task in Distribute.

You need to create this task in the Server Machine with a user with rights.

Users will receive this in their email or in a folder (for the email you need to configurate the correct parameters in the admin)

From the 7.0 but its very similar.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue here. I created the template, tested the distribution and it worked.

However, when i schedule the distribution to a local folder, the file does not appear after the execution of the task. I created the task in the Server Machine with a Admin user and i can see it in the Task Scheduler that it was executed with sucess, but the file simply does not appear in the folder that i defined.

Any hints?

Best Regards,

João

Hi Robert,

I've been working on this subject with SAP because Distribution functionality had some errors on our SP level.

Now this is working as needed, however with a small issue. When distribution creates excel files, sheet names are created with original name plus Time that I define to run against.

What I need is to have sheet names as original and time goes to excel file name. How can I accomplish this?

Regards,

Vitor

Hey Vadim,

Good to see you....looking to find out ways on how to resolve the issue with scheduling....tried installing the latest version SP 34,maintained the SMTP configuration etc....still not successful, I was thinking if installing the EXCEL and EMP add-in in the Server itself and schedule the task within server could be the key here.

Thanks,.

"I was thinking if installing the EXCEL and EMP add-in in the Server itself and schedule the task within server could be the key here." - absolutely useless idea! Server has no relation to distribution!

Hi,

I am having the same issue, I am BPC 10.1 MS Version, schedule task works manually however do not work when I try to schedule. Is the schedule to be setup from the within the BPC Server? We do not have excel, EPM ADD-in installed on BPC Server. Could you share how you resolved the issue please?

Thanks,

Ziyad

Hello Vitor,

BPC does not offer a direct way to schedule running a workbook, a

simple workaround I can think of is to schedule to run the excel

workbook with the Windows Task Scheduler, of course for this to work

properly you need to leave an instance of Excel running with the BPC Addin already logged on.

With EPM AddIn you can use the feature of "distribution" and schedule distribution.

For further information, please take a look at the EPM User Guide.

Dorra.
