SAP GTS :change Logical system information for replicated data

Hello Experts,

As a part of the system landscape, we have a client that will be planning to use S/4 HANA along with GTS. As a part of the system landscape, we would have a Dev, QA, Regression and Production client.

Regression client will be a copy of last 6 months of data from the production system.

  • Master data and transaction data in SAP-GTS is identified based on the logical system defined for the connecting SAP system
  • The logical system for the Regression client and Production client is different. Hence, when we copy the production data to the regression data, how do we get SAP-GTS data copied from Production to get re-aligned to the S/4 HANA system with the new logical system ? ?

Would appreciate inputs from the experts on how this can managed.

Hi Rohit,

I think there's a Basis tool - transaction BDLS - that can help with this.

Hope that helps.

Hi Dave

Thanks a lot for your response. If I am not mistaken, the BDLS tool would be across all of the data in GTS.. i.e. you cannot select the subset of data for which the logical system needs to be updated.

Is that correct ? Do we need to do any post change activity ( after BDLS is executed ) ?

Hi Rohit,

Importantly, you can select the tables in which the program operates. If you have taken a copy of your Production system, then surely you WOULD want to change all of the data to behave like the "QA" or whatever system, wouldn't you?

No, I can't think of any post-change actions required. I hope it goes well for you.

Dave
