SAP ECC and S/4 HANA Parallel connection with SAP GTS 11.0

Hi Experts,

SAP GTS 11.0 can be connected with SAP ECC and SAP S/4 HANA in parallel by having different logical systems? do you see any challenges with this landscape.

Thank you for your response, yes ECC and S/4 HANA are the 2 business entities, the scenario is, currently we have SAP ECC connected to GTS, and we are planning to go for S/4 HANA, initially S/4 HANA for new business entity (new acquisition - using different ERP) , for this new entity GTS requirements we are planning to use our existing GTS system, later on we will upgrade ECC to GTS, in this process, we are investigating the best possibles and challenges if we get any.

Sunil, by design of GTS : both ECC and S/4 HANA systems can be connected to GTS as separate logical systems.

Few questions for you to consider:

• Are the ECC and S/4 HANA representing different businesses (LOB)?
• Is there any common master data (business partners, materials) across these two systems?

Typical concerns:

• With 2 logical systems, separate configuration is needed for organization, partner and document structures (standard GTS design to distinguish the data of each logical system). Sometimes, it is overwhelming to setup and maintain.

Just for my understanding, is your question in context of a part upgrade from ECC to S/4 HANA?
