SAP CC and S4 Connection

Hi CC Expert,

In S4, normally we have 2 clients if it is a development system, 1 for customizing and 1 for testing, in any case, is it possible for these 2 clients to connect in just 1 SAP CC system? If for example the client for customizing will also use for testing.

I'm just wondering if this is possible, how can it handle the master data, for example provider contracts, bp etc.

Regards,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

This is not completely in Convergent Charging's scope but, if your two clients can be referenced as two distinct JCo destinations, then you can configure Convergent Charging to switch between them, using corresponding "Customer Management Areas".
Then, your development subscriber accounts would be assigned to the "testing" CMA (pointing to the testing client's JCo destination), and the subscriber accounts for customising would be assigned to the other CMA (pointing to the customising client's JCo destination).

The point of that would mostly be to compartmentalise your billable items and consumption items.
On the other hand, the catalog data (charge plans, tables, etc.) and the CC system's configuration (number of threads per service, cache sizes, SLD configuration, schedulers, etc.) would still be centralised. So, if you need specific settings for each type of activity, you might, for example, create a script to reimport all the required configuration and therefore switch between the "testing" and "customising" profiles.

This is not a standard procedure, but feel free to ask for more advice, or to tell me if I've misinterpreted your question.

Best regards.
