SAP BPC NW 10.1 : MasterData's descriptions missing when loaded from BW InfoObjet

Former Member

Hello BPC experts,

I successfully loaded master datas from BW InfoObjet to the target dimension in BPC which is an Account Type dimension.

The problem is the following : no description is loaded with the master datas and I don't know why.

In the EPM Add-In the description is the ID as in the Administration browser the "Description" is empty.

For exemple the account 6020000000 has a "6020000000" description while it has no description in the Administration browser.

I also tried to change languages of the EPM Add-in or the Administration browser : no success.

I tried to modify my transformation file and use "DELIMITER = TAB" : no success.

Transformation file :

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Best regards,

Karim DINMAMODE

Looks like language selection is incorrect!

Please provide more details!

P.S. ACCTYPE in MAPPING is missing??? Why?

Hello M. Vadim,

I tried all the combinaisons of languages (French / English) for the EPM Add-In and still the description is missing.

Here's how I've loaded the master datas from BW to BPC :

Our main language is FRENCH, but I've also did the loading in ENGLISH and switched the EPM Add-In in ENGLISH with no success.

ACCTYPE is present, I picked up the wrong screenshot.

Also what is your BPC admin language?

Hello JP,

In BW InfoObject, the description is present. Screenshots :

In this last screenshot, we can see that there is a description for the account 6020000000 which have been loaded to BPC.

Our main language is FRENCH. Our EPM Add-In and Admin are set in FRENCH and I've loaded the master datas in FRENCH also. It didn't worked, so I did the same actions in ENGLISH : no success.

JP,

I've logged into BW in ENGLISH and this what I've obtained :

Versus FRENCH log :

The description for the 6020000000 account is :

- in ENGLISH : "ZIMA/76020000000"

- in FRENCH : "REVENUS PLACEMENTS"

Could it be why I don't get my description ? However I've loaded the master datas by choosing the FRENCH language....

Hi Karim,

I don't understand French! It would have been better if you had posted English screenshots! Anyways...if the descriptions are present in the descriptions table....then try keeping "AND" option for Sort filters....and

Check for authorizations for your ID, check below thread.

As long as your selecting the language as French while loading, I don't think that will cause any problem.

P.S Are you giving any selections in Attribute and Hierarchy tab??

M. Vadim,

It doesn't work :

After refreshing master data :

JP,

No attributes but we chose a hierarchy and also chose the option "set filters by attributes or hierarchy".

JP,

We tried the option "AND", in fact I think that we tried all the combinaisons options/languages possible...

Thanks for the advice, I'll check that !

Whoa! Import Text Node should be YES!!!!! Since you are giving hierarchy for filtering!

Check this...

Hope this resolves......

Fine, it means that you have correct descriptions in place!

Can you show the log of resent master data import? Not sure that you import something...

Karim,

Are you loading all the 5 descriptions for 1 account with different Chart of accounts? as per the last screenshot shown. Try to filter with Chart of accounts in Attribute tab.

"Try to filter with Chart of accounts in Attribute tab." - Yes, this is correct!

JP, Vadim,

Here's how I've applied the attribute filter :

I've launched the loading with both options "Attributes OR Hierarchy"  and "Attributes AND Hierarchy".

The description is still missing.

@JP : I've also asked a BW Administrator with SAPALL to launch for me the master data loading, and still the description is missing.

ERRATUM !

Sorry JP, I only noticed this mistake few seconds ago :

When I checked my InfoObject 0ACCOUNT, it's 7602000000 and not 6020000000 (the exemple account loaded in my BPC dimension with missing description).

In fact I can't find any of the account loaded in my BPC dimension ! Now I even don't know where the master data are loaded from as I don't find them in the InfoObject.

Karim

Don't try all possible options!

Look on the working selection:

Hello JP, Vadim,

Thanks for your help.

Thanks to both of you we managed to import the masterdatas from the BW InfoObject WITH the descriptions.

Indeed, we had to :

- Filter Chart of Accounts and Hierarchy

- Use the option "filter by Attributes AND Hierarchies".

- Chosse 1 langage with medium text
