Hi All,
We are planning to Migrate Consolidation from SAP BPC to SAP Group Reporting. Are there any useful documents or URLs??
Wants to know what are things to be considered while proposing the MIGRATION and pre and post activities of Migration from SAP BPC to SAP Group Reporting.
It will be very helpful.
Thanks
Sekhar SR
Hi Sehkar,
I do not know of any standard migration documentation. Where i would start with making a migration strategy (e.g. how do you migrate the BPC data to GR, which migration application/method) and there-after a data requirement specification.
One way to start is with comparing the data models. E.g. to compare the table and entity set-up. To see which data needs to go from-to.
In order to understand the core tables, it helps to map the universal tables (ACDOCA,ACDOCU,ACDOCP) against your specific SAP BPC tables. And then you see that some entities of BPC are already part of the ACDOCP table set-up, such as the version is "CATEGORY" which is then again "RVERS" in GR and stored in table TF200. You will also need a value set mapping between your BPC and GR. When we take this example of version. The versions in your BPC set-up will not be equal to the standard GR ones. So, you need to define which one is to be mapped to which one.
The packages FC01_FC and FIN_CS_MASTER_DATA have the GR tables. And then it depends whether the tables are configuration, master data or transactional data and your migration strategy how to get them set-up in GR.
Regards, Jack

HI Sekhar,
1st off there is no formal migration solution that I'm aware of. It certainly is possible to move a customer from BPC to Group Reporting but it's much more of an implementation and not really a migration.
It's certainly possible to import various master data and such into Group Reporting but the 2 applications are so different that I've heard from several consultants is it's best to start over.
Wish I had better information for you. Perhaps someone else can comment with additional info?
