SAP BPC 10.1 NW Standard and Embedded can coexist?

Dear experts,

I have a general question regarding BPC setup. I tried to find an answer online but I found different documents on the topic, but quite confusing.

I have an environment based on S4/HANA on BW 751 SP 0001. I will use this environment to generate some 'demo' applications.

BPC has been activated, and since we are on S4/HANA environment, there was no need to install the add on. I logged in the web admin and the system has a BPC Standard interface. However, as far as I understood, the activation of BPC on S4/HANA can bring you both Standard and Embedded interfaces.

I checked table RSPLS_HDB_ACT and both entries are flagged:

In manage all Environment I have the button to CREATE an embedded model, but actually I can't:

My question then is:

-in the same installation, can Standard and Embedded models cohexist?

-how can I create an Embedded environment? should I update my security settings in BW?

-since we are on S4/HANA stack, could I take advantage of 'BPC Optimized' for S4 HANA and run a real time consolidation process?

Thanks for your clarifications

Best regards

Francesco

Hi,

yes, BPC Standard and BPC Embedded can coexist.

It seems that you have no authorization to create a BW workspace: BPC Embedded tries to create a BW workspace needed for some features. Check the following blog for 'minimal authorizations':
