Hi,

wanted to implement a SAP BPC 10.1 for Microsoft within a SQL Server 2016 Evaluation, just for some tests.

The system is running on Windows Server 2016, via virtual machine.

able to enter the BPC administration client and to create a new environment!

If I want to enter Excel via the plugin, an error message occurs right after I've tried to login:

Unable to contact the server. There was no endpoint listening at http://win-s59e4dl7lh6/sap/BPC/session?method=Get. (Error 404)

If I want to enter the Web Client, Error 500 comes up (Login=bpcservice, should have got full control over every file):

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

IIS received the request; however, an internal error occurred during the processing of the request. The root cause of this error depends on which module handles the request and what was happening in the worker process when this error occurred.

IIS was not able to access the web.config file for the Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are set incorrectly.

IIS was not able to process configuration for the Web site or application.

The authenticated user does not have permission to use this DLL.

The request is mapped to a managed handler but the .NET Extensibility Feature is not installed.

According to IIS Trace log I've got the following issue:

FILE_CACHE_ACCESS_START

FileName C:\PC_MS\Websrvr\Web\POA\SBC\um\user.svc\

UserName bpcservice

DomainName: *doNotWantToProvide*

FILE_CACHE_ACCESS_END

Successful false

FileFromCache false

FileAddedToCache false

FileDirmoned true

LastModCheckErrorIgnored true

ErrorCode The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. (0x8007007b)

According to BPC tracing:

ERROR#ApplicationService##EPM-BPC-MS##48f4a3b9-a269-4d18-af76-5ece434feb9e###OSoft.Services.Webservice.ApplicationService.ApplicationService.Query()#doNotWantToProvide\\bpcservice

The backup set holds a backup of a database other than the existing 'XYZ' database. RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

ERROR#IHttpModule##EPM-BPC-MS##590521ce-07a1-4f87-b0f7-77a564eae1a3###EndRequest#########Plain##Requested URL: /sap/bpc/session?method=Get#

Server cannot append header after HTTP headers have been sent

...and many more...

Does anyone know THE origin for these errors? I simply hope that, e.g. solving the Error 500 could resolve the other problems as well. However, I don't know that.

Looked up Authentication but it seemed like the login has got full control. Basic and Windows authentication are enabled for everything the installation guide is asking for.

Would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks in advance!
