Situation:
For testing purposes I wanted to make a manual journal entry to accounts with different currencies.
Expected result:
After checking that the account balance (debit and credit across all accounts) holds true in the default currency, I expect the system to book the journal entry.
Alternatively I expect the system to suggest other accounts on which to book a losses due to currency exchange rate.
Result:
I get the message error 173-17
I don't understand the message. Was just playing around with the functionality as I'm preparing for the Consultant exam.

Hi,
For your question, you can check SAP Note 1512488.
You can access the SAP Note using the Partner S-User ID and Password.

Hi Jitin,
the note didn't solve my problem, but helped me understand the system.
So after that reading I'd redefine my goal as follows:
"Get money from an account in one foreign currency, to an account in another foreign currency."
Instead of trying to get it all done in one journal entry, I did in with two separate Journal entry.
First Transaction: From Account A (foreign curency only) to account B (all currencies).
Second Transaction: From Account B (all currencies) to account C (another foreing currency).
It worked.
Kind regards,
Manuel
Hello,
Probably you need to set the accounts in the "G/L Account Determination". Search for this term on SAP B1 menu and make the correct configuration then try again.
Best regards

Hi there,
I did this in preparation of the transaction:
- one account A exclusively in one foreing currency,
- another account B exclusivly in another foreign currency, and
- one account for all currencies C
For the exact solution and how I made it work, see my respone to the comment above.
Kind regards,
Manuel
