S4 Group Reporting Question and Joint Venture Master Data

We need some guidance on SAP Group Reporting changes to ACDOCU fields

In upstream oil & gas we rely heavily on the piece of master data, Joint Venture (0JVNAME in BW), for Business Segment, oil & gas field and HUB/AREA reporting. Joint Venture is on every ACDOCA posting

Unfortunately the master data “Joint Venture” does not exist in Group Reporting in ACDOCU. The concept of “Segment” is managed via Profit Center.

At present our design is to use Profit Center to represent our HR Organisation structure which allows us to capture Budget Holder responsibility across all company codes and Joint Ventures and Cost Objects

Question

• Could you confirm if it is possible to amend ACDOCU to include “Joint Venture” master data to allow us to leverage it for Segmental Reporting in Group Reporting?

Without much information on the underlying finance system and appetite for having integrated CUs, I could only say that there are workarounds, obvious one is to extend ACDOCU table and get the needed fields using GRDC.

stephane.neufcourt please help with information on whether ACDOCU will in future share the JVA fields from ACDOCA (out of the box) ?

Hello Russell,

ACDOCU table can be extended for standard and custom dimensions for the consolidation requirements.

Specific to JVA, JVA dimensions/fields are now available in S4 Finance ( ACDOCA) but the standard dimensions are not available in Group Reporting.

You have the belwo options :

1. Create the JVA fields ( e.g 0JVNAME) -ZZ1_JVNAME in both ACDOCU and ACDOCA

- Use the standard FI-GL substitution rules to post the data from 0JVNAME --> ZZ1_JVNAME

2. Leverage the GRDC to Load the Reported financial data from ACDOCA /S4 Finance. This is option has pros and cons

3. Create the custom field only in ACDOCU and map the Standard dimension in the Data release CDS view ( This is completely a custom scope)

This option applies up to S4 2021. Since the S42022 release, we need to check the GRPL-Substitution rules.
