Dear Experts,
Currently we have roles defined in ECC 6.0 which have restrictions build into them, such as; plants, sales organizations, movement types and whether end users have create, change or just display, etc. We will be migrating to S/4 HANA Cloud and will use Fiori as the front-end.
Question: Is dual role maintenance needed, both in Fiori and HANA, in order to accomplish what we have build in our roles today or would building the roles just in HANA be sufficient to restrict end user access?
Best regards.

Hi Niek,
After migration to S4HANA, your users will be accessing the system using FIORI launchpad right?
If FIORI apps (Standard or Customized) are used then you have to get the new roles created in FIORI to provide access to FIORI services (this will be Front End Role) and also your S4HANA roles need to be additionally updated with FIORI service details (Backend Roles).
Regards,
Madhu
