RTC 1709: 3 straight questions

hi rtc gurus:

I have some experience with RTC 1610 but I d like to hear from your experience the answer for these 3 questions regarding RTC 1709:

  1. in the sap documentation they mention as a enhancement: "reduce partial data redundancy in 1610 releases", what does it mean exactly?
  2. in acdocc table, do we have records with group=G_NONE as a result of the integration rule? in RTC 1610, we used to run integration rule to move records from acdoca to acdocc and this process did 2 things: copy data to C table with group=G_NONE and the create a dataset with the specific group (after that we can execute the automatic adjustment business rule)
  3. in few words, how can we explain the real benefit of prelim category vs final category?

regards

Joseph

Hello,

  1. It is hard to answer the first question without knowing the context. However, generally speaking RTC 1610 and 1709 take advantage of the BW modeling objects that consume data directly from HANA views. Using aDSO and virtual providers data does not have to be loaded to BW layer, therefore there is no data redundancy.
  2. The online help says that "when the integration mode is enabled for a model, the currency translation does not generate results on the group level. " In that sense you are correct. You can expect to see the translated value, in a reporting currency, at G_NONE. However, how that value gets there can be as a result of executing currency translation either through BPC with integration rule enabled, or by executing RTCCT or you may load the already converted values from SFin.
  3. Like everything else in accounting, there is never a simple answer to any accounting procedure. However, I have found a lot of information on the online help for SAP Cost Object Controlling, CO-PC-OBJ, about prelim and actual. Please check the details here. In BPC we use a similar concept. BPC customers can setup different accounting categories, for example Actual VS forecast. How the CO's Actual and Prelim map to BPC is through the HANA views and should already be documented in RTC.
