Restrict the length of Funds Center master data code

Dear Experts,

SAP by standard provides maximum 16 characters length for the Funds Center master data (FMFCTR - FISTL).

Is it possible to restrict the user at any lower length. For example, if I want to restrict the user at maximum 6 characters so there is no chance to exceed this limit.

Please guide how to achieve this objective.

Hi,

Very strange requirement 🙂 Normally, users who create fund centres are supposed to know what they are doing, as it's master data maintained only by key users. But, nevertheless, you can control fund centre creation via this user-exits EXIT_SAPSFMMD_007 and EXIT_SAPSFMMD_008.

Indeed it is strange requirement by client 🙂
