Regional Embargo 'Crimea' Region to Embargo list

Hi All,

My client wanted to add 'Crimea' region to Embargo list. As per the standard only countries can be Embargoed and regions Embargo functionality is not available. Please let me know is there any other way to handle the requirement.

Hi Gurram,

I would handle the flow via license determination and license masters rather than via embargo. We have strict rules set up with Ukraine so that the Crimea region orders get reviewed. In our case, anything going to UA requires control and if it's not Crimea, the personnel will approve the shipment and if it is Crimea, further investigation ensues. If you didn't want to review all of UA shipments, there is an option to perform license determination at the regional level.

Hi Gurram,

I don't normally like this kind of solution, but...

You could (temporarily) create a new Country Code in GTS - for example, 'ZZ' - and apply an Embargo to that Country Code. Then code the transfer BAdI so that any partner in the Crimea region causes the Country Code to be changed to 'ZZ' during the transfer.

I think anything more would need one or more Code Enhancements, but perhaps our expert readers here could suggest something better?

Correct, Embargo check is only at country level in standard.
