Hello All,
We are using =EPMRETRIEVE functionality for some reports, wherein it fails to load the data onto the report. It simply gives =RFR on the places where we have used the formula, referring to refresh the worksheet. While we refresh, the splash screen appears and goes off in a flash, with no retrieval of data from the back-end and I believe it doesn't work at that instance. And also the issue is intermittent and it does not always happen.
We have tried clearing the metadata cache and logged off and logged in to EPM while we face the issue, but still the issue is seen.
System details are as below.
CPMBPC | 801 | 0003 |
Is there anyway the issue could be avoided, while the issue is seen?
Regards,
Madhav

Madhav,
How many of these formulas are on a worksheet? When there are a large number of these formulas, Excel memory issues can cause the formulas not to refresh.

Madhav,
I agree with Vadim ... 100 formulas are not much. I know upgrading BPC on the server side is not a simple task and requires some coordination, the EPM Add-in upgrade should be fairly easy. Before you try upgrading, it might be worth checking out some notes like 2085520.
Hope this helps, sorry for the vague answer but the #RFR errors are not super specific either and can be caused by a host of things.

Hi Madhav,
In general you have to avoid usage of EPMRETRIEVE in the reports... It's alway possible to create report without this function.
About system - SP03 for BPC 801 is very old! Upgrade required.
What is the EPM SP you are using?

I've experienced refresh issues using EPMRetrieve in conjunction with EPM report builder. For me the issue was quickly resolved with a second refresh. Can you verify that you are referencing every dimension in your formula (even though it is not required)? A screenshot would be very helpful!
