"Lost" G/L accounts between transports 3SL

Hello, I created G/L accounts in Manage GL Account master data application in Development tenant of the 3SL architecture (SAP S4H Public cloud). I transported it to Test tenant. When I check the Manage GL account MD application in Test, I don't see some of the accounts that I created in Development. But I see these accounts in development.
The master data of the missing accounts are not blocked, they are in the P implementation status.. they have the same settings as the other successfully transported accounts.

Do you know what the problem can be? Many thanks

Hello dear user,

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (3SL architecture: DEV → TEST → PROD), when G/L accounts are not appearing in the Test tenant after transport, here are possible reasons and solutions:

1️. Transport Not Fully Completed

  • Even though the transport request was created, some objects may not have been included or may have encountered an issue during the import into TEST.
  • Check in "Export Software Collection" (in Development) and "Import Collection" (in Test) to see if the transport was fully applied.

2️. Missing Company Code-Specific Assignments

  • In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, G/L accounts are first created at the chart of accounts level, but they also need to be extended to specific company codes.
  • If the accounts exist in Test at the Chart of Accounts level but are missing in the company code, you need to manually assign them.

3️. Master Data vs. Configuration Issue

  • In the 3SL landscape, G/L account master data is not transported—only configuration is.
  • If the missing accounts were created directly as master data (instead of via SSCUI or configuration), they will not be transported to the Test system.

4️. Implementation Status Issue (P Status)

  • Even though the accounts show P – Active, some dependencies might not be fully transported (e.g., related tax settings, financial statement versions, etc.).
  • Check "Manage Your Solution" > Configuration Activities to see if any dependencies need manual activation.

5️. Transport Logs & Errors in Import Collection

  • Go to "Import Collection" in the Test system and review the transport log for any errors or missing dependencies.

I hope this will help you answer your question.

Best regards,

Jeremy
