[PSM-FM] EA-PS 600 to EA-PS 605 Assumptions

Please confirm if my understanding is correct.

We currently have EA-PS 600 in our system and we are planning to upgrade it to EA-PS 605. As studied, our current release version of 600 will not address our requirements below. Kindly help let me know if I am mistaken with the below assumptions.

MB21 reservation > Goods Issue

AS IS process: FM budget check (and consumption) ONLY triggers during GI (as actuals)

TO BE process: FM budget check (and consumption) should now trigger starting FROM MB21 creation

Assumptions upon implementation:

• 1.Earmarked document is generated for every reservation document – provided that the reservation document HAS a GL account AND cost center (our FM structure does not have budget address and posting address; only derivation rules for combinations of GL accounts [CI] and cost center [FC]). = PSM_FM_CI_1 (EA-PS 603)
• 2.My reservation should not push through if there is no budget in FM (CI-FC). = PSM_FM_CI_1 (EA-PS 603)
• 3.Goods issue will reference to a reservation and this should consume the reservation document AND generated earmarked fund. = PSM_FM_CI_3 (EA-PS 605)

Hi,

This is perfectly correct. With small exception: not all material reservations create FM commitment on-line. Some of them, e.g. those generated from MRP, still require execution of a transfer program (RFFMRP_MAT_RESERVATION).

Also, make sure that you have recent package from 6.05, because there were some serious problems with MM reservation integration. Check for example if the following notes are included in your upgrade:

1521088 - MB21 create with reference uses same earmarked fund

2401501 - Error when posting a goods issue (MIGO) with reference to a funds reservation (BF PSM_FM_CI_3)

2106054 - MIGO : Cannot enter Funds Management Account Assignment when PSM_FM_CI_3 is activated

P.S. One more remark: even if you don't have budget structure, you still have to introduce FM elements in your MB21 or derive them through FMDERIVE logic.

Yes. FMDERIVE rules are already in place for relevant GL/CIs and CC/FCs. Will review these notes.
