Program to delete Data Manager Package logs

Hello Friends,

Env - BPC 10.1 Standard NW

Basis just informed us that the DB size is increasing rapidly.

UFC_DOC and UJD_CLUSTER_TB2 tables are getting a big hit on the size. Models are looking good.

I am testing the steps in QA to reduce the size of the tables. I have manually cleared the files that were uploaded to the server for each model.

Next on my list is the Data Manager Package logs. We have logs since 2016. Is there a program to delete all the logs at once. I could delete them from EPM addin but there are more than 600 pages of package logs to be cleared manually.

Any steps that you follow on a monthly or yearly basis to keep the system size in tact.

Few of the house keeping threads show links that are no longer valid 😞

Thanks for your time

Ed.

Sorry, but why not to search Sap notes yourself?? Waiting for someone who will do your job???

And please, accept the correct answer!

Vadim, the site does not give me an option to accept any of your answers.

Raised a ticket with SAP for the memory issue and they pointed to these notes, in case anyone else has the same issue. The memory got cleared after a restart, but restarting the server is not a viable option if the cleanup job is scheduled monthly.

"Vadim, the site does not give me an option to accept any of your answers." - because you are not an author of the question! Ask your colleague...

Second: the mentioned notes are related to HANA, but your DB is DB2

Thanks Vadim.

After my run for UJF_FILE_SERVICE_CLEAN_LOGS the number of records in UFC_DOC redued from 400k to 7k.

But when Basis ran the back end report on DB2, the size of the table reduced by .2GB only.

"But when Basis ran the back end report on DB2, the size of the table reduced by .2GB only." - ask this question to your Basis team 🙂 Space can be reserved by db engine and will not free if you delete records automatically.

P.S. Please don't use "answer" instead of comment. I do not receive notification if you "answer"!

Thanks Vadim for your reply.

I was able to run the UJF_FILE_SERVICE_CLEAN_LOGS program and significantly decrease the number of rows in UFC_DOC table. Will wait on basis to give the DB update.

Is there a way to reduce the data in UJD_CLUSTER_TB2 table.
