Profitability report - Section wise, Line wise, Brand wise

Dear SAP Experts

I have a requirement from customer, as they want to see Profitability Analysis based on Section Wise and MFG Line wise.

I know using derivation rule we can achive this requirement but how or where the source fields need to be maintained.

It would have helped if you could have provided a bit more business background, your current organizational structure and the ERP system you are on.

For a simplicity sake, let us assume you are using S/4HANA.

I have no idea on the relation ship between MFG Line and Section Line and how the same is set up from organisational structure in your system. Let us assume, you have MFG Line represented as a segment and Section Line is represented as a profit center. You can now use account based COPA to get the required reporting capabilities. The best way would be to start with margin analysis implementation. The below blogs and OSS Notes could be a good starting point:

Off course this can change, if you provide a detailed requirement on the business side and organizational set up in the system today.
