Problem with loading transactional data from infoprovider BPC 10.1

Hello experts,

I am working in BPC 10.1 SP 21 Patch 3.

I want to load transactional data from infocube BW (0CCA_C11) to BPC model (ZPLANNING). I'm facing with a new issue that I have never had. Previously, I have managed to load transactional data succesfully a lot of times . Now, I am not able to read any records (0 records) from the cube, both for validation and for the package.

I reproduce the error:

  • Firstly, the infoprovider BW 0CCA_C11 (cost center accounting), has data.

  • This is the transformation file used, called "PRUEBA_TRANS":

  • This is the conversion file "PRUEBA_CONV.xls" used:

  • When I try to validate and process this tranformation file (with transactional data from infoprovider 0CCA_C11), I set the Selection Criteria as follows:

In "Selection", I just filter the time for 2015, in "Dimension fields/list", I just take the infoobjects, which have been mapped in the *MAPPING of the transformation file.

Well, this is the result of the validation:

It reads no records from the infoprovider, appears 0 records count.

  • If I run the package /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI, introducing the same Set Selection shown above (with any option of "handling of records in target", I get a "Warning" status with this log:

I have tried some things:

- Loading transactional data from another infoprovider / infocube. The same result, 0 records count.

- Loading master data from infoobject. It works fine, no problem here.

- I have used differents Set Selections, with others "Selection" and "Dimension fields/List). But the same error.

Considerations:

- All dimensions are processed

- The status of the infocube is Active

- Last week we upgraded system components. This is the current components:

Please, I would appreciate any help.

Kind regards,

Manu

Hi Manu

Looking at your post, this is the same issue we are having as well with loading data from a BW InfoCube to the BPC Model.

Last week (9th Nov 2015) we upgraded our development system's components to SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP12 and BPC 10.1 SP7 (from SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP9 and BPC 10.1 SP4).

List of components and versions in our development system (may have a few extra compared to your system):

The EPM Add-in we are using is EPM 10.0 SP23 Patch 2 and EPM 10.0 SP24 (busy validating the newest support package).

We are still busy investigating this issue.

Hello Derek,

We're facing exactly the same issue. Do you have any news?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Vera

We've been searching through the various SAP Notes and forums the last few days, some of the notes we've looked at may be a possible solution (not sure if this will fix the issue) however there is a dependencies on the NetWeaver version as well.

We decided that instead of applying a number of notes individually, we would rather upgrade our recently upgraded system from SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP12 to SAP NetWeaver SP13 and BPC 10.1 SP7 to BPC 10.1 SP8 instead (latest support package available - these were release mid November 2015). Then we will retest whether the issue is resolved and if the issue still persists, then log a call with SAP.

I'll put feedback on this post once we have finished the upgrade and retesting.

Hello Derek, Vera,

After checking a lot of SAP notes and posts, we sent a note to SAP explaining our issue. Actually, they are working on it. When we have a final solution from them, I will share it with you.

Please Derek, when you can, tell us the result of your retest.

Thanks,

Kind regards,

Manu

Hi Manu

We've finally managed to upgrade our BW/BPC Development system this weekend to SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP13 and BPC 10.1 SP8.

We had some issues in the RSUPGRCHECK program during the upgrade - had to apply 3 SAP OSS Notes to fix the issues (the last 2 are to delivered with the forthcoming NetWeaver 7.4 SP14 end Feb 2016):

  • 2229248 - Long runtime in background job "RSUPGRCHECK"
  • 2220686 - Error message "Object &1 &2 could not be found in version &3" (RS_EXCEPTION280) contains no information about the object
  • 2217990 - Message "InfoObject &1: &2 &3 is not active; activating InfoObject now" (R7030) is confusing

We retested our BPC scenarios with the issues we had prior to the upgrade and unfortunately even after updating to BPC 10.1 SP8 - this did not solve the issues.

I am busy documenting our BPC scenarios with the various issues that occur and going to log a call with SAP.

Hi Manu

We have not received any reply yet, so I gather the issue is more serious?

I see that SAP posted a note "2250872 - Validate transformation file does not show error information" on the 2015/12/01.

Details of the note:

Symptom:

You validate a transformation file which is used to load master data. If source member IDs contain invalid characters such as '+' etc, EPM Add-in does not show any error information. It displays 'Accpt count' as '0' and the message 'This task was successfully completed.' instead.

Reason and Prerequisites

This is a regression issue.

Solution

Apply the program correction instructions of this SAP note, or upgrade to Support Package CPMBPC 810 SP09.

This seems to be similar to the issue we are having with transactional data. BPC 10.1 SP9 is expected to be delivered by +/- end March 2016 which may contain fixes for our issue?, however I hope SAP can provide a solution much earlier as my project is now running behind schedule.

Hi Derek,

But what is the issue?

If you suspect that master data contain some invalid characters - why not to remove/replace in conversion file (simple JavaScript will do the job)?

Vadim

P.S. Or the issue happens before conversion?

Hello Derek,

Thanks for sharing this sap note, it solves our issue.

Hi Vera

Yes, we also decided to apply the note 2250872 as well and it seems to have resolved the issue.

The transformation file now shows the error records instead of just a successfully message.

We are still busy performing extensive tests on our system to ensure that all the functions work correctly after applying the note.

Hello,

As Derek said, the problem is solved. In my case, I applied the following note:

2160290 - Enhance loading transaction data to do case conversion of member IDs

The validation of the transformation file was not working fine.

Thank you very much for your help.

Kind regards,

Manu

Hello

While validating the transformation FILE
in set selection could you please filter the 0CO_AREA with a valid CO AREA then try , and while loading the Cost center transaction data some times we need to mention the cost center id's range in set selection

Hi Manu,

Few questions.

1) Does your transformation file for TIME includes other years as well. Eg 2014, 2013 etc.

You can make is generic like :

External : ????001

Internal : ????.01 and so on.

2) Do you have transaction data in the BW cube for the year and the months you are loading ?

Thanks

Hi Rakesh,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

1. I am aware of that. I only put the year 2015 in conversion file because I want to import that year for test purposes. Note that in the Set Selection I am specifying the fiscal year/period "2015001" to "2015012"

2. Yes, the infocube contains data for exercise 2015.

Anyway, the fact is that if I don't fill the "Selection" part, all data should be imported...but read 0 records.

I forgot to add an important fact.

For importing transactional data, we have to put all dimensions (of the model) in the transformation file. In case that you don't put one of the dimensions, an error jumps. However, if I delete one dimension in the transformation file, the system doesn't check anything, It let me to follow and validate.

Something is failing, but where?

Thanks,

Manu

Can you try replacing *STR(Dummy) with *NEWCOL(Dummy) for all the places with *STR

Done.

The same result. It keeps reading 0 records count.

Thanks.

Hi Manuel,

Please ensure that dummy member should be available in dimensions member sheet.

Hi,

what happens when on the dimension/field list you select all available dimensions/fields?

Hello Narasimha,

Verified. All DUMMY members are available.

In addition, the hardcoded member "100010" for ENTITY dimension is also available.

Look at this, as I said in the previous message, when I delete one dimension of the model from transformation file, the validation keeps being correct. That is not the natural behaviour, it should give me an error.

It is highly inusual.

Hi Arnold,

Happens the same. This time I have selected all dimension/field list.

The only difference is the increase of the validation time, but it is not yet working.
